Davidson Community Center's Mission:

Our mission is to serve our underprivileged children, adults and senior citizens by mutual cooperation, training, education and advocacy, and to promote a wholesome lifestyle based on a quality service-oriented philosophy that develops teamwork and leadership in our people and which will empower them with a sustainable advantage in our ever-changing and competitive society.

Application of the above mandate enables personal development of self-esteem, respect for self, respect for others and respect for one's own community.

Application of the DCC mandate encourages self-help and pride in making the effort without embarrassment in asking for assistance and information when needed. Indeed, the community's confidence and "trust" in the center and its staff has proven absolutely crucial in dealing with sensitive issues such as HIV/Aids, illiteracy, pregnancy and poverty.

Our Goal

Davidson Community Center's primary goal is to improve the quality of life through the design and implementation of programs that:

     1. Enhance the delivery of social services particularly to children and the elderly.

     2. Enhance the educational and development opportunities for youth.

     3. Build community capacity.

Davidson Community Center offers a variety of program services that include: educational tutoring, cultural enrichment, advocacy and other social programs. Our program structure emphasize the value of a quality education, teamwork, discipline and personal achievement. DCC has created linkages with clinics, mental health centers, and religious institutions. We have also developed ties with families in the community.

Davidson's mission is to provide services to underprivileged children, youth, adults and seniors of the South Bronx through education, training, empowerment, and advocacy. We will maintain a quality and service-oriented attitude that promotes leadership and teamwork, which will lead the agency and create a sustainable competitive advantage for the Davidson Community Center.
